Hello all. I guess I just need someone to give some advice. My Mum was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer last Wednesday. She’s 91 and has been told she’s too old for surgery/radiotherapy/chemotherapy. Our best option is for her to have a stent fitted so that she can eat more comfortably (she’s been struggling to keep food down and has lost weight). I wondered if other people have been through this procedure and how successful it’s been/if there’s anything we need to be aware of. We’re trying to remain positive but realistic. I honestly don’t know what to expect moving forward.
Thanks Dods. Yes - we've got copious amounts of Fortisip. She's not that keen on it but needs must! We're trying the much-hated Vanilla versions with a bit of honey stirred in. I'll explore Complan too.
