Hi, has anyone been on this treatment pathway. My partner, Stuart, had an oesophagectomy November 24. He developed problems with his vocal cord a year later. Ct scan showed cancer cells in two enlarged lymph nodes pressing on the nerve responsible for the vocal cord. We are told there’s an outside chance of cure with chemotherapy. I’m so worried he’s on a downward path.   Thanks Anne.

  • Hi Galloway

I am sorry to read that Stuart is having new problems after the oesophagectomy, but I hope you can ho;d on to the outside chance of a cure with chemotherapy.

It is absolutely understandable that you would be worried and that, that worry is added to by your thoughts that he may be on a downward path, and that is likely because, for the most part, we tend to think the worst,

I hope Stuart is assisted positively by the treatment, as so many others have been in the past.

Wishing you both the best of luck

    1. Thank you for your kind words. We were told he had T1 cancer and he wouldn’t need chemotherapy after surgery as it had a low risk of returning. So sadly their prediction was wrong. For that I’m a bit angry.
  • Anne thats so understandable, we are literally in some one elses hands, if you can just go old school again, things you want answered written down, still reach out on here, some of the family on here, have had chemo which completely got rid of the little Rage, at least you have jumped on it quickly, so just keep pushing for urgent treatment, and keep posting, wishing you all the best
