Hubby has this and is struggling with food it won't go down properly, some days are better than others

  • I'm sorry your husband is suffering with this cancer. Has he started any treatment yet?

  • I have just been diagnosed and I have been struggling also with food going down.I have not been able to eat meat for months as it lodges in my throat and the only way I could ever clear it was by being sick.I am awaiting surgery which I am very nervous about.

  • Hello,Hubby is mainly having Soups ,homemade or bought also porridge or Ready Brek which is smoother.Yes surgery is a big thing but if it offers a cure then thats the way to go.David is not fit enough for surgery so he faces gruelling chemo and radiotherapy to shrink it He was also advised to get calories as weight loss is inevitable.

  • Treatment statrs on 6th Jan..how far along are you with things.

  • I am having to eat softer options ,it is a big adjustment but I am prepared to do whatever it takes to get through this.Regards to you and your husband ut is a difficult time.

  • I am awaiting a lung scan on Friday to ensure I am fit for surgery so should be in the very near future everything has been fast tracked.

  • I had my operation  in August 23 . I lost 9.5 stone but I was a big lad to start with . Its going to be a hard road I am sorry to say . All of us have great support  around  us to get us through this xx
