Hi
my husband had 5 weeks of chemo and radio in April and has op now on Thursday at Royal Liverpool. He is also having a lung tumour taken out at the same time and so can’t be down at our local hospital in Wrexham.
I too would be interested to hear about recovery, that’s the part I’m worried about.
I will let you know how we go. Good luck with your treatment
Hey Nicnac, great news indeed. You're plodding along over there quite nicely...lol. No post op chemo, what a wonderfully thought.
You sound really upbeat and why not. So pleased for you Pal. Good luck with scan results. Let us know what they say. I hope it's shrunk to nothing.
I had a six hour visit to A&E at Derby. Was in a lot of pain in my bones all over and couldn't get rid of it. Rang the VIP line and they said go in, so I did. Triaged very quick but then left for five hours in a room with the Mrs before they came with more pain killers. Didn't smell a doctor let alone see one. Signed myself out in the end ( they weren't happy) and went to doctors next day for some pain meds just in case it comes back. Because of them strike there was about 100 patients and one doctor. I'm all behind them getting more money and better conditions but don't agree with them striking.
All good at the moment though mate. Last belly injection today for a week or so. Hoping for a few days of feeling ok, not so tired. Got nurse coming today to redress picc line.
Why don't we meet up somewhere or one of us could ride over to the others for a visit. It would be nice to actually meet you.
Best regards Geo
Hi Zulu,
I was saying the wife the other day it's a shame they can't just keep you sleeping for the whole time....lol.
Go to sleep and get up seconds later, fixed.
Seriously though it's a worrying time for all concerned. I'm not looking forward to mine, whenever that will be...
He'll have a great medical team by his side, drugs to keep the vast majority of the pain under control and you and his family to get him back on his feet. It's sure to be a journey of quite a few weeks. But till all comes out the other end better for it. Keep positive.
Best regards
Geo.
Hi Ade, the thought of five rounds of chemo is making me feel sick.....lol. Or is it the chemo? Lol.
I've got my second round on Friday. Not had a very pleasant few days but ok today. Been feeling sick, running to they toilet, bad aches and pains in my bones, so so sleepy.
What sort of side effects are you getting? Do they get worse? Do you get any new side effects as you go along? Where are you off to on your holiday?
Hope you have a good week or two Pal
Geo.
