Operation 22 March

Hi there, after discovery of squamous carcinoma in November 2021, laser cell removal, chemo and radio therapy in September-October 2022, and oesophagectomy with adjacent lymph nodes removal on 22 March, I am recovering - pretty well I think, although there are good days and less good days - and eating enough seems a treadmill.

I am seeing a consultant to discuss the possibility of neoadjuvant Nivolumab therapy. Has anyone experience of this? I’m told that I am clear of cancer, but really don’t understand what my prognosis really is .. and it’s something I need to understand better. Having been in denial in 2021, I’m facing the future with some confidence, but I still feel very uncertain about my life expectancy…

    Hi

I'm pleased to read that you are recovering well and that you are now clear of cancer. I don't have any experience of the drug regime you mentioned but by responding to your post it will place it back at the top so that more members will see it. It's a good idea to write something for your profile so that members can consider your question in context, so that members get to know you and it saves you repeating yourself. Another option re information about the drug would be to type it into the search function, which is the spyglass at the top in green.

I feel that you need some answers re the proper picture and how you stand now. It could be worth getting in touch with your CNS. Another option would be to contact the Macmillan helpline and speak to someone, this is the link https://www.macmillan.org.uk/about-us/contact-us

I hope you get the answers you're looking for. Best wishes for your drug therapy.

    A x
