Hi everyone, so glad I found this forum. I have been reading lots of the threads and it’s helping me a lot. My dad has just been told he has malignant tumour and has had ct scan with the dye, awaiting those results to see where we go from there.
not going to lie I’m petrified for him but will support him 1000 percent all the way. I know we are in for a rough ride ahead. :(
not sure what else to say really, can just hope xx
Good morning Tinydancer.
Having just read your post I would, as someone who is still getting through my having to deal with oesophageal cancer, from diagnosis thru chemo and surgery, I would just like to offer you some hand say that your dad is a very lucky person to have you behind him, supporting him all the way 1000%. Please continue to reach out to people who are on their journey with cancer and please
try and remain positive as you and your dad are not on your own dealing with cancer! Take care and stay safe. Michael
Hi micheal Thank you so much for your reply! I’m spending some time everyday reading on here how to support him as much as I possibly can, seems daunting when we don’t even know where we are at with it at the moment. We find out Tuesday next week. I am trying to remain positive it’s just my heads all over the place.
I hope you’re doing well?, thanks once again
Thank you for taking the time to read my reply and thank you
for enquiring about my welfare. Tinydancer, I know that your thoughts are running all over the place, but please, please try and stay focused and positive as this is what your dad needs. As I men
ed earlier on, never hold back from reaching out to others as this where you and your dad will get the strength to handle whatever comes your way. Cancer is totally non discriminatory and can affe
ny of us when we least expect it! I also found great strength in my setting up a WhatsApp group chat with “ friends and colleagues,” and to this day, 2 years on, we reach out to each other for sup
and words of encouragement when any of us are finding it difficult to cope!
Please
continue to read the postings and please let me know how things are going with you and your dad, he is a very lucky person to have you in his corner fighting with him and just being there for him
ke care and stay safe.
michael.
Hello
I'm so sorry that you are on this journey. I remember those early uncertain days...the waiting is the worst. Hang in there.. once all the tests are done and they've finished the staging, the doctors will know which treatment options are best. I know I was shell shocked when first diagnosed as was my family. For me I felt much better once I started treatment and understood the path a bit better.
Sending positive vibes.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
