Hello I am looking for a support group to help me through what will be a very difficult journey. My husband (63) has had bowl cancer twice and has just been diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus.
Having gone through cancer already, I guess we know somewhat how the journey looks. It doesn’t make it any easier or any less scary. What I have learnt is the doctors and nurses will look after him, but it’s those who have to watch them go through this who feel the pain. I am trying to stay positive and taking it a day at a time.
Thank you for reading my post.
Hi Ew2022
Welcome to this forum, sorry that you have found yourself her though, and of course that after the previous bowl cancer diagnosis and new diagnosis of OC has been given. This must be extremely difficult for you both, but you are right, the doctors and nurses will look after him, and in so doing, in their own way, they will also be looking after you.
I can say that the treatment for OC in the past few years has come on leaps and bounds, so I hope that your husband is able to get through this diagnosis also.
I am sure you already know that the Macmillan team are contactable on the number in my signature, should your husband feel he needs to speak with a professional. Also there are, alongside this forum, the Family and Friends forum where additional support may be found.
I wish your husband every success and best of luck to you both
