Hi everyone I'm 56 and recently been diagnosed with oesophagus cancer. T2N0M0
I started on FLOT chemo which unfortunately I had a bad reaction to, chest pain extremely bad bad pain in ribs, back chest wall stomach ect. Bottomed blood pressure, fainting, diarrhoea and generally feeling really ill.
To top it off iv also now got a blood clot in my left arm which is also which arm my Picc Line is in.
Am I really this unlucky
Can anybody give me some advise on how to help with chemo please
Thanku
Hi Shelltots
I am really sorry to read that the FLOT treatment has caused you to have extreme pain and other negative symptoms, and then to have a blood clot on top of everything else, I can understand why you have wondered if you really are this unlucky.
I am not able to give you much advice, but maybe it is something that others who may have experienced similar side effects can give you some support on, so I have bumped this post up in the hope that others will see it.
I know you will read a great deal about remaining positive and maybe even on focusing on the why's of the chemo to the what's of it. I really do hope that your next session if you are having one, is easier on you.

Hiya, I am same age T3N0M0 and just had 3rd chemo session. Tumour has increased in size but hopefully not enough to stop planned operation. Trying alternative treatment in private clinic as NHS treatment seems limited and had no contact with oncologist or specialists. Scotland NHS is very limited. Keep taking all prescribed drugs and be kind to yourself. I accept the bad days, find a Netflix to binge on and wait for a good day. Keep fighting, you are early stages with loads of possibilities and time, bill
Hiya Lowe update from oncologist yest no more chemo as reaction are way to serious to continue and it is still.contained thankgod. So he's contacting my surgeon to straight for surgery
I'm still suffering after having PICC line removed and my anxiety is even worse now.
But tying to stay positive thanku so much for Yr kind words

Hi Shell, great news re op. I had a hernia repair done on Friday, 1st op ever, 1st gen aesthetic, it was so fine. Lost my fear of operations. Returned some faith in our wonderful NHS. Where are you being treated?
Hope you are keeping ok Shell,,
And that the PICC problems have now reduced, sorry to read about your anxiety, do you have support with that?
Remember the Macmilan team are here for you to reach out to should you need them.
Thinking of you today and hope you have had more news on surgery
