Hello out there and I am a newbie to this forum. I have being diagnosed with cancer and have just had 2nd Chemo treatment and I must say that this has been the worse week in my life
I really seem to be having an issue with Phlegm being produced all the time and wondered if anyone has the same issue, my nose is not blocked but i do feel it in my throat a lot of the time
If this is not the right place then please accept my apologies, any pointers much appreciated
I have flagged this up with my health team and it was actually noted down in my notes and brought it up at the last consultation again but I'm not sure they really are able to do anything
Anyway I have been having fantastic support from my family, friends and colleagues and Macmillan too
I do hope you are as well supported as I am and wish you well and hopefully some good news for you and your loved ones
There are definitely some dark moments but I have to keep positive about the outcome
Cheers
Tim
Hi Tim
Have you managed to sort your issues out with Phlegm . I too suffe with Phlegm and it causes issues with keeping my food down. I am not sure how true this is but I have been informed by a group member that 5hey also suffered with phlegm and it was caused through their chemotherapy treatment.
Hi Cathy and thanks for this information, I will indeed have a look and my spelling is just as bad especially with all these medical terms being used
Hi Max, I have had mine for near on a year before I even knew I had cancer, just thought it funny I could never shift it. I assumed the body was producing it in response to the cancer to help lube the throat. I don't eat solids on the whole these days, the odd soft wotsit, soups and protein shakes. Will speak to the consultant again next week so will bring it up again. CHEERS
Hi Tim I have recently been given steroids to help with the Phlegm it seems to be helping a bit but still producing a small amount of phlegm. Hope you do not mind me asking are you suffering with weight loss.
Hi there, so for the delayed reply, I've had a lot of side effects that have really dragged me down from the latest chemo infusion. I have steroids for the first few days after the infusion and then they stop. I haven't really seen a difference as I was put on some to help reduce a nerve problem in my back but I think it has been very minimal effect.
Cheers
Tim
