It’s Inoperable, untreatable, although he’s about to have a stent fitted . I was wondering if any one else has experienced this, and can help with information and what we are to expect. Thankyou so much for sharing
Hello Floral
Welcome to the forum, I am sorry to read that your Dad has been diagnosed wih Oesophageal cancer (OC), but glad that you have found you way to the Macmillan Website where you will find a great deal of information and support.
I imagine you may have already found the link to information on OC but just incase HERE it is
Also there is a forum specifically for Family and Friends, which you may want to join, though please still post here if you have specific questions.
My husband was diagnosed two years ago with OC, the tumour is the adenocarcino type and he was told that it was inoperable, incurable, though it was/is treatable, is there a reason that you have been given, why they are unable to offer any treatment for your Dad?
If you click on our picture, you will see our profile and a link to our blog, starting at the bottom of the blog, you will be able to see his journey so far, which may offer you some information.
My husband does not have a stent, so I am unable to comment on that.
Should you or Dad have any questions that are a bit more personal, you may find some help via the Macmillan Helpine, details of the number are in my signature below.
Best Wishes
