Hi. Have joined group as my dad has just been told that after his 4 weeks of radiotherapy in Nov/Dec he still has oesphageal cancer. Last month we were told biopsies were unclear so had hoped for positive result so feel like I have been on an emotional rollercoaster. He wasn't able to get chemo due to being diabetic and over 70. Don't know what I am supposed to ask at the meetings? And so emotional its hard to know what to say or do.
Hi,
So sorry to hear about your dad, my dad is 54 and unfortunately has incurable oesophageal cancer that has now spread. He also had radiotherapy which did help to shrink the cancer for over a year! it is hard in the meetings especially as they throw so much information at you but I have found it helps just to write down questions when I think of them and then you are sort of prepared when you go in with a list of things you want to ask.
You are also able to ring Macmillan nurses or your dads specialist nurse if he has one and ask them any questions you have or to discuss things just to help you get a better understanding!
It is such a horrific situation and I hope your dad manages to fight this.
Love A x
