Hi, just thought I would say hello. Have been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma - still going through the process for staging/spread etc.
So far am T3 with no mets but have been warned it may change especially after pet-scan which is more able to pick up on things. All this waiting is hard but on the other hand it gives me a bit of 'breathing space' before all the info is in, decisions are made and whatever options (if any) are discussed. Am up and down with it all but trying to stay positive and crack on with things as best I can. I have other health issues so am high-risk for any surgery - (and apparantly even chemo!) - doing my best to improve my fitness and keep my nutrition up and hope I get some form of treatment.
Having a 2nd ct-scan on Monday - just under 2 weeks since last one - not sure why but assume I'll find out (see if it's grown?)
Anyway - first post so hi.
Hi Mia, you're in the right place for some support when you need it - although I'm sorry you are in this position.
My husband was diagnosed with the same cancer roughly 6 months ago. He had lots of scans and investigations so that the medics had as much info as possible; that enabled them to plan the best course of action.
Big hugs, Tiny x
Hello Mia
Welcome to the forum, thank you for reaching out to us here, ,as Tiny Dancer said, you are in the right place.
Good luck today with the 2nd Scan, I know that with everything going on, things can be quite scary, but hopefully you and your cancer team have caught your adenocarinoma in time.
The treatment will be decided based on the outcomes of your results, and the sooner this starts the better as it will attack where it needs to. It is so important to remain as positive as possible, even when your inside seems to be like Jelly, But I wish you every success with everything and we are here for you.
At any time you can call the Macmillan helpline if you have any questions that you would prefer not to ask openly on the forum.

Hi - and thanks for the responses :)
I am still waiting for 'news' (frustrating) - but one of my macmillan nurses found out the 2nd scan was to check my upper thorax, lungs etc - have now had my 3rd ct scan/and pet-scan combo, still waiting for an appointment for an endoscopic ultrasound (and probably more biopsies) - pretty much every person I have met has been lovely, supportive, caring, which helps hugely ofc and helps me stay positive and engaged.
It's been a rollercoaster since I first went to Dr with increased problems swallowing - and had my first 'procedure' through the nose endoscopy on Xmas eve. I am dealing with all these people/appointments/adventures pretty well so far (I am autistic). Really didn't like the pet-scan but some strong meditation techniques got me through it and the solid panic attack. Anyway - fingers crossed as always :)
