Hello.

I’m a 77 year old male.  I was diagnosed with OC in June following a Radioscopy which found a tumour approx 4mm at the end nearest the stomach. I was told and understand that I would not survive an operation (I also suffer with Parkinson’s Disease and it’s associated problems).  I opted for a short 5day course of Radio Therapy which left some bad after effects.  Not sure if I want or will even be allowed Chemo.  I initially was given a follow up appointment on 6th Nov and have heard nothing since.  I have been placed on Palliative care.  Some contact eventually with nurses but have to chase everything up. I obviously experience some problems which I will no discuss on this forum.

Best wishes to all fellow sufferers

  • Hello Artyman,

Welcome to the OC forum, not a place that any of us really want to be, but it is good place to drop your thoughts and feelings and to be heard by others.

I am sorry to read that you have been diagnosed with OC and that an operation would not be suitable for you, also that the radiotherapy has left some bad after effects.

I am not the person with a diagnosis, my husband is, but he has been having chemo, and in regards to OC I have no experience of the effects of Radiotherapy.

I just wanted to reach out, to let you know we are here, and listening, I do hope you are now under a regular meeting plan with the nurses. The waiting for follow-ups has always been difficult, 3 months seems so long, especially when feeling ill and living with uncertainties.

Stay Strong, and best wishes to you also.
