I am new to group just wanted to say hello going for my 2nd chemo this week. Was wondering does it get worse the more chemo you get?

  • Hello Lizzylizard

Welcome to the OC forum, I know it is difficult to write your first post so I would like to congratulate you on taking the courage to do that.

Are you able to share a little more about your diagnosis? There are two main OC tumours and a few minor lesser heard of tumours, so it would be good to know about you.  If you haven't already you can read more HERE on Oesophageal Cancer , but sometimes it is nicer to chat, (all be it in Type form)

As for your Chemo question, I think it would be fair to say that it depends on each individual, how they react to the chemo, the particular concoction that makes up their treatment and also their mindset.

How have you been on the treatment?

There is a great amount of support here, I am not the person with the diagnosis, and there are others like me, but My Husband was diagnosed in May 2020.... it's been a rollercoaster but we are doing ok..

Hope you will come back and chat, I apologise that you had such a wait for a response this time around, but hope to hear from you again soon

Hi, I have been doing OK thanks a few symptoms, tired, nauseated but apart from that not to bad. Got my 3rd round of chemo on the 12th and then I think the plan was another round after that then scan to see if it has shrunk.

  • I am glad that you are not having too much in the way of negative side effects.

    Is the treatment fortnightly?

Good luck for the 12th, fingers crossed the nausea won't last and you start to feel a litter brighter.

    Take Care
