Relentless exhaustion

will it get better?

  • Hi MatronP

My apologies for not picking this post up earlier, Welcome to the OC forum, it is not usual for the forum to be so quiet.

I am truly sorry to read of your OC diagnoses in April 2021, it is my understanding that radiotherapy continues to work throughout the body for many months. That said, I am not an expert on radiotherapy, and I would be interested to know why it is believed that chemotherapy is not appropriate?

You are probably aware that there are different tumours and different treatment with OC,  there is more information Here, if you have not already read it, I imagine based on your tumour type and location your treatment is believed to be best option, but I know that some people have requested second opinions and been happier with those, others, not so.

My husband was diagnosed in May 2020, he is being treated with chemo and immunotherapy, he has been on fortnightly treatment almost ongoing since he was diagnosed, and that continues. He has had some outstanding results from his treatment and in October went back to working from home two days a week. He will start on three days a week from Monday...... for him, things have got better... for you I truly hope they will do too.

Please feel free to contact the Macmillan team at on the number shown in my signature, they may be able to ease your concerns or point you in the right direction as to side effects of radiotherapy.  Here  is some information put together by Macmillan on Radiotherapy for OC.

I hope the relentless exhaustion eases soon for you.

    Best of luck
