The aftermath - any help appreciated

Hi guys, its been a while from I've been on but wanted to ask for some help.

My partner is 50 he's 3 years post op and suppose doing ok, however he cant get back to work as all he seems to do is throw up and be on the toilet.

At night time he chokes and vomits daily, this is with sitting up with lots of pillows etc.. day time he's on the toilet constantly and getting headaches.

He's now finding he cant focus on things at all and getting frustrated and cant remember things also.

He tries to go to the gym as he likes to keep weight on but finding now he gets there throws up and has to go home.

The consultant just seems to think because he "looks great" (he's not skinny and has some muscle) that everything is ok and he has to live with it.

My question is, is anyone else like this and can maybe advise if anything has helped at all?

(Sometimes the sick is black with spots others white foam or yellow bile - to me this is a worry)

Thanks for taking time to read x

  • Hi,

If your husband is 3 years post-op then he should still be being monitored by his oncology team (this continues for 5 years post surgery). I would definitely contact them ASAP as the symptoms he is experiencing are definitely not normal.
