Meals after a stent

Hi everyone Slight smile my mum was diagnosed just over 4 months ago, she ended up having to have a stent fitted fairly soon after due to not being able to take any liquid. There isn't any surgery she can have and she stopped the chemo after one session (due to how it made her feel and it was only going to give an extra 3 months)

I just wanted to come on in case anyone else was in a similar situation and needed help with post stent meals

My mum has been getting some meals from Wiltshire farm foods and they do a small bites, mixed and full pureed range

As well as this she is able to have the kids ready meals from marks and Spencer and says they are a lot softer and easier to manage being a smaller portion.

Cuppa soups also make a great snack and a way to get in some extra calories for her and I blend down chunky soup as they have a lot of flavour

Breakfast wise she can manage porridge with extra milk, Weetabix with loads of milk, rice puddings etc

I just wanted to put this out there as my mum has been really impressed with these meals and I thought it would be helpful to share.

Take care everyone

Rachel

  • Hi Rachel, perhaps try the online ready meal companies as they do have specific soft food sections for mainly older customers, I find I have to have sauces or gravy with all my meals so you can choose carefully and make extra gravy, whilst I was in hospital when I was ready for soft solid I stayed with cottage pie

Hope you can find something, take acre
