my journey started October 2012 2mths chemotherapy then a rest January 2013 major surgery in 4 weeks returned home another 4 weeks returned to work as landscape gardening everything going well, but having a few problems I was slowly losing power retired from work December 2020 height of covid then stomach stopped working in hospital 3 months repaired plyrus back home still not right more endoscopy done 13 now, found 7 ulcers yuk more pills, not taking iron on board not even liquid haematologist next,then seemingly my stomach has moved closer to heart and lung more problems there is no one out there to talk to about my problems just leaflets family members are all fantastic but they really don’t know hospital staff are best in world and surgeons

I am sorry to hear of your health problems and that they have been going on for such a long time.
I am pleased to hear that you have had plenty of support from family members and also from your hospital staff.
Although leaflets can be helpful I can understand that you need people to talk to. Sometimes it is harder to talk to those closest to you.
If you feel like it would help to chat things through then please do give the Support Line a call. They are there from 8am-8pm every day. They can also have a look to see if there is any support local to you.

Hi there cool blue it wasn’t till eight years down the line when problems started in 2020 New Year’s Eve when food stopped in my stomach and A&E didn’t now what to do,it wasn’t till January when surgeon came in from hols they started to find out why, then caught covid there 26days isolation 38 day surgery I missed my 65th birthday the a month later went back to see surgeon and told him I couldn’t breathe properly,then found a growth on my thyroid so they removed half of it then everything else went tits up just had an iron infusion today let’s watch this space at least Iam still here, I hope you keep going it’s worth it ST James hospital Leeds are keeping me going
