My husband has stage four Esophageal cancer. His tumour is at the bottom of his esophagus. He’s to start radiotherapy in 2 weeks and he’s 79. Anyone got advice to manage the side effects please.
Hello Evy
I wish your luck every success with his treatment, some advice should be given to him when the treatment starts, on how to manage side effects and who to contact.
It is quite hard to give advice on how to manage his specific side effects, everyone is so different, and some people barely have any side effects at all, what I wouldn't want to do is states loads of different possible side effects with possible management of symptoms, as this could be quite overwhelming.
I hope that he finds his side effects to be minimal, and if there are any issues during treatment, just drop in and see if anyone can help then.
Best of Luck

I know that it is tough, the not knowing, but it is really important that the advice given is as specific to your husband as it can be... with everything that is going through your minds at the moment, adding to that with suggestions that may not even be relevant, but which may cause you more concern or worry would be inconsiderate.
I hope that this is ok
