I have just had my second round of chemotherapy and am really struggling with the nausea and sickness which has been going on for 4 days so far with no signs of improvement. I’m due to have 4 more cycles, but as this is classed as a palliative treatment, not a cure, I am already beginning to wonder if it is worth it.
I hate feeling such a wuss, I have lots to live for, but I’m really struggling. Any suggestions?
Hi - I don't know if this will help, but I have inoperable oesophageal cancer and a tumour on my lung. I had chemo year before last and struggled too, followed by radiotherapy, which was no fun. I still have swallowing problems, but the chemo reduced the tumour and I haven't needed treatment this year. I had big problems with diarhoea during chemo and , like you, wondered if it was worth it, but here I am, 13 months later, fully able bodied and able to enjoy life. Don't know how long I have, but the chemo seems to have disposed of one of the tumours for now anyway - I'd say, hang in there - even a few more years is worth it xx
