Hi all,
Sadly my dad passed away on Sunday after a 28 month battle against oesophageal cancer.
I last posted in April when my dad was told that his cancer was active again and had spread to his lungs and neck, he continued to fight like the warrior he was and gave Xelox chemo a try however the cancer continued to grow and the side effects were horrific so we had to abandon that at the end of August.
He made a small recovery and was able to celebrate his 30th wedding anniversary with my mum before trying radiotherapy last week. However the radiotherapy caused a small infection in his lung which sadly turned into pneumonia over the weekend, he watched his last rugby game in hospital on Saturday afternoon and sadly overnight on Sunday the pneumonia took full force and he passed away early Sunday morning with our family by his side.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their support over the last two years. It really has been a journey. I wish everyone the best with their continued battles and pray that one day the outcome for this horrific disease start to improve.
A x
