So today I met with a surgeon in Oxford hospital. I was originally diagnosed with stage 4 osophagus cancer with secondaries in my lymthnodes with one near my kidney and one near my aorta. A treatment plan of chemotherapy and herceptin made the cancer in my lymthnodes disappear and dramatically shrank the tumour in my osophagus.

I am an unusual case for them being just 35 and the fact that I have reacted so well to treatment which was designed to prolong life rather than give me any chance at curr. The meeting was essentially them weighing up my appetite for surgery and ensuring I was fit enough  They explained the risks of surgery and the risk that the cancer may come back as it's been elsewhere in my body. I told the docters they are incharge and I'm comfortable with whatever they suggest is my best chance at cure. The docters are meeting Monday and the plan will likely be to operate after a further 2 months of surveillance whilst on hecerptin as long as the future pet scan comes back ok.

Not going to lie it's all pretty scary and I do like many of you ask the question why me,  but I feel incredibly blessed to have reacted how I have to treatment and have a path to cure. Time to move forward whilst believing in the docters, ensuring j get the right nutrition and remaining positive.
