2,922 days ago on 11th February 2014 I had my Ivor Lewis.

It’s sometimes difficult to respond to peoples’ struggles on this forum, when I have been so lucky. But that doesn’t mean I don’t read every one. I try not to take my good fortune for granted and try to remember how slow the recovery eas. So all of you out there who are recovering or looking after someone who is recovering, keep positive… you may not be able to see progress day to day, month to month even. Recovery is worth the struggle and a new comfortable normal is achievable.  My return to ‘normal’ life took over two years and still I get reminded that my digestive system is not normal, even today. Thank goodness for jelly babies my go to dumping syndrome remedy.

Congratulations Brent, and thank you for all the help, support and advice you have given me and others over the years. Like you I read all the posts but don't always comment, I'm  5 years and 3 months post surgery and I am aware that treatment has changed over time so it's good to see the " New guard" taking up the reigns to help people with information about their experiences. As you say make the days count. Kind regards Frank.
