  • Hi Haybag.

I had same tumour grading, had 2 rounds of 24/7 intravenous 5 days chemo per round then waited. Told they would operate if tumour shrunk. It didn't. However MDT decided as it hadn't grown, they would operate and have a go as it was, a large tumour. That was way back in Dec 2013, About 9 years ago now.

    Keep on keeping on dude.

  • Are you aware of Maggie’s upper GI support group meetings at Addenbrookes?

Their cosy monthly meetings are very supportive and interesting. Next one is 14th December if you feel up to it.

  • Been to see them Wednesday after I went for bloods and oncology meeting. Had a cup f tea and a chat with graham, nice fellow. Told me various group meetings. Lovely little setting. Said drop in anytime when I’m over the hospital. Did give me details of a mens only meeting 21/12/21, in late morning which sounds good for me, will try my best to get over to that one. 6/7 chaps with different cancers meeting for a bit of a natter and light relief. Thanks for the advice and information Brent, it’s always good to hear from other people and there knowledge. All the best Haybag.

  • Awright Zappaman. I have been busy at work, Welfare Support Worker for Fife Council. Lots o families on low income really struggling due to food and fuel increases. Wife had a bad fall, complex break to her wrist, awaiting surgery, will be off work for months....... Was looking forward to Absolute Bowie Tribute Band at the Liquidroi. Next Fri, but it looks like a no go. Now..... Hope you and yours, are well, and ignoring this plandemic nonses. Time for a mega change me thinks. I find, if the only thing being heard is the same repeated, fear-porn, filtered narrative,  I get the chills.

Hi Eddie, sorry to hear about your wife, I hope she recovers ok. As you say, and I'm not trying to be controversial, there's always 2 sides to a story and it would seem that there is a planned narrative to make sure you don't get to hear it. Anyway, unfortunately I was diagnosed earlier this year with secondary cancer in 4 lymph nodes. They weren't growing and not causing me any major problems, until September. I had a chest infection for about 6 weeks but the coughing wouldn't go away and I had lost weight because I couldn't eat for coughing. I had another CT scan on the 8th November and a tumour at the top of my chest between the oesophagus and windpipe is pressing on the windpipe causing the coughing fits. Chemotherapy isn't an option just now because of the weight loss and general weakness. I was given codeine linctus for the coughing and steroids to help me to eat more. I've an appointment with the oncologist on the 22nd December so I'll see what she says then. I got a call from a Marie Curie nurse over a week ago and I don't know whether to be happy or worried lol. It was to offer me support and she is meant to be going to visit me at home to discuss palliative care. I can't complain really, I was only given a 20-25% chance of survival up to 5 years. That was in October 2016 and I have enjoyed life since then. I didn't see the point of worrying about a return, I've enjoyed a lot of pottering around and collecting logs for my stove. I managed to travel to York last February to see a performance by a group called HEILUNG. You can see them on YouTube, a song called Krigsgaldr isn't a bad place to start. They are like nothing I have ever seen before, amazing live performance. Anyway I hope you are doing well. Kind regards Frank

  • Sorry to here this Zappaman. I do hope you get nothing but the best of treatment.

I always fear a return of the beast. I recently just came of Fentanyl, after cutting down my dose over a year. I now experience more pain at join area and back, scar, assuming this is common if you don't take any pain relief.

Just started back recording with me old band mates from the late 70s. The other Guitarist built a digital recording studio in his bedroom, fitted with headphone points and seating for all 4 of us to play and record. Even has Ed runs and deflection of guitars, keys etc. Hopefully get some tracks together soon. Really enjoying Peter Jackson Beatles series on Disney+, he has 60 hours of unreleased footage from the original 2 hour document. Facinating how they craft and create songs.

Tell me how u get on after your Dec appointment. Will they offer access to trials?
