Feeling a bit if a wimp at moment, I haven't even had my op or chemo or radiotherapy but feeling extremely nauseous, sick and tired d all the time.

Can't sleep worth a damn even with a sleeping tablet and as I have had three endoscopy recently I regurgitate regularly which is something I haven't done since a previous stomach op 20 years ago.

Why is life so s**t.

  • Hi John

I wonder whether the anxiety of the chemo /radiotherapy is playing very heavily on your mind, causing you anxiety, and sleeplessness?

    How are you now?

  • Hi Lowe, anxiety is an issue, not sure if I am to have chemo as  yet as still doubt about op on 9th.

  • Morning John,

Have a read of the post I just added in the forum which I hope will help. Eating is a b1tch mate with our type of cancer so the key is to take your time. Stress really doesn't help so try to relax. When you start chemo they will give you steroids and anti sickness drugs which really  help mate, i am eating better the week after treatment than I was before.

Get yourself a juicer veg (especially carrots) and apples are your friend they are low in acid and easy to drink if too thick add some water. Soups are great as well try to avoid acidic foods. If you haven't already make sure you get protein shakes from your docters.

Most importantly take your time, eat stuff that is kind on your stomach and be positive mate.

  • Vinny thanks for the info and encouragement. Did you just have chemo, and no surgery.

  • I am stage 4 buddy so you are in a lot better position than me. So be positive chemo will reduce your tumour and you will start feeling better. The fact that they are saying they can operate soon isSlight smile great news. Have a read of my post mate about eating it may help Slight smile

  • Unfortunately following my aortic angiogram last Thursday it appears that I do not have a long enough blood vessel to accommodate the planned op. I am being referred to oncologist on Tuesday.

Hi John my husband was able to eat better the day after chemo started.  Don’t get me wrong chemo is not easy - he is in the middle of it now. But he is able to eat (when he doesn’t feel sick).  Terrible thing to try and get your head round. Good luck

  • There are so many people who were able to shrink the tumours with just chemo so be positive Slight smile

  • Thank you for taking the time to reply. I know it is not easy to talk, my wife tries to avoid the subject, but I need to talk.
