Hi guys was diagnosed last year with oesophagus cancer. Done chemo radio, for a grade 3 tumour.

I've been having dilation ect.  Just found out it's in my lungs and have a re growth tumour. I'm about to start immunotherapy and chemo....

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated x

  • Hi Marcia, sad news indeed. Yup have my every sympathy.

I can't help you because I haven't been in the same situation. I have Oesophageal cancer or having been operated on I have had cancer and am just waiting to find out about post op chemo regime.

My only advice would be to be guided by your medical team. They are the experts. Good luck going forward.

    Best regards

    Geo.

  • Hi Marcia

I believe we are in similar positions. I was diagnosed stage 4 squamous cell oesophageal cancer last year. Did chemo-radiation which reduced the tumour to begin with but in thr last few months it has continues to grow up my throat.

I started Nivolumab immunotherapy last week and it seemed to go OK (well no notable side effects yet Fingers crossed).  I am quite gopeful from what I've read about immunotherapy.  I have a really irritable cough that is driving me mad and the medical team are trying to work out what's causing the cough. I'm pretty sure it the tumour pressing on my wide pipe but they're ruling everything else out first: chest infection, asthma etc...  If it wasn't for the cough I'd feel better.

Sorry I can't give any insight into the immunotherapy as I've only just started it but from the case studies I've read about its action on OC sounds very encouraging.

    Good luck

    Mel
