I have oesophagul stomach junctional cancer, but my treatment has been etoposide and carbolpaltin. I have small cell cancer, which is often found in lungs. I have liver mets too, but no spread after 3 chemo session scan, which is a relief and also 'significant reduction in tumour and lymph swelling.

Has anyone else got small cell cancer? I see many people have FLOT, but I am thinking that's for Squamous cell cancer?

Thanks in advance

  • Hi

Great to hear your treatment is making a positive impact ..Long may it continue ..I’m assuming small cell OC is rarer than squamous cell  and adenocarcinoma cell  ?

My husband had FLOT for his OC .situated in the junction between his oesophagus and stomach ..His were adenocarcinoma cells ..We were  told these cells start in gland cells at the bottom of the oesophagus This type of cancer is the most common esophageal cancer. It usually occurs closer to the stomach. .Pleased to say FLOT Chemo had a positive impact on these type of cells too ..
