Post operative pain any advice please

He's had a massive gastro intestinal trauma. I don't know for sure as I haven't got that far yet, but I imagine it's quite normal. Don't ask for advice on here though please ring his specialist nurse at the hospital for the answers you need. That's what they are there for. It could be that he needs to go back in for a short while longer. 

Please call them now and let them know what's happening.

Hi Deb, very sorry to hear that.

I have the numbers of four specialist gastro intestinal cancer nurses and my surgeons mobile to call anytime. I'm going to Royal Derby hospital.

Why the difference I wonder. I feel really cossited by my team and all the staff I've come into contact with so far, including receptionist, porters and the like.

Try calling someone on here. I'm sure they would be over the moon to talk and advise.

My husband had his total Gastrectomy at Notts but now back at Lincoln, we was told to consult his GP, that would be a miracle in itself. If you’re really worried phone 111 or go to A&E, best to be on the safe side. X

Seems to be a national let down regarding GP service. I rang once and was hanging on for 30 mins I actually walked to the surgery and the receptionist said can I help you. I said answer the phone would be nice. She wasn't expecting that.

Just to say my hubby is at last got some relief,  as been put back on slow release morphine and it seems to be working.  Hope you're coping OK it's a long journey,  just gets you down sometimes
