So husband had his op on the 2nd June - no complications .
He's due to start another 6 rounds of Capox and immunotherapy on the 11th July . He's been told his blood count is fine , tumour removed etc . We managed to take the kids away for a week to a log cabin which was much needed . He ate a lot of bbq food which was great to see. He's feels very down , almost like he's back at square one, which he knows deep down it isn't . He just isn't mentally ready .
I'm trying to tell him hopefully this is your last stage of this crazy journey. When people speak about mop chemo , I thought it would be a few tablets . His oncologist said his reaction to previous treatment was outstanding so they want him on the same again . The neuropathy he's feeling is getting worse by the day . He sometimes can't tie his laces . I feel nervous , is it going to be the same or not so bad because the tumour is gone? . Also trying to not make it such a big thing in terms of the kids . Our 5 year old things Dads better now .
I do feel incredibly blessed we are at this point . But goodness me ,what a journey.
love to you all

Hi Tjasai. This has all got to be very encouraging especially his return to eating so well. You are obviously providing fantastic support. Hopefully he can concentrate on all the positives to try and lift his mood. We all know it's a marathon- it has been said so many times on here. Hopefully there is plenty of advice from others on the neuropathy as I can't provide any knowledgeable comment on that. My very best wishes to you both.
Hi good to hear from you ! Glad that you have managed a holiday and that hubby is eating well ! It’s hard when you have recovered so well from surgery to then have to start again with chemotherapy and adding to effect’s your still suffering! As all my margins and lymph nodes were clear after talking to my surgeon and oncology I chose not to have post op chemo !! It’s a gamble I know and was not sure if I had done the right thing but saw consultant this week who said that there is no proof that post op chemo works so we will see ! The oncologist said that post op chemo is far worse than pre op !! Be guided by consultant and oncologist it wasn’t a decision I made lightly. Sending hugs Tricia xx
very interesting I'm intrigued to know how you get on too xx
Very brave ️
I am the same as you on the postop. chemotherapy refusal DD. So far so good after 2 years. We'll keep our fingers crossed for each other!
Everything crossed for you !
How are you feeling ?
xx
I’m very well thanks Tiff ! Feeling great enjoying this lovely weather, hair coming back but grey (hate it) can’t wait for it to be long enough to have highlights!! But that’s a small thing in the grand scheme of things ! Hope your husband continues to get better he’s come a long way and if he has to have more treatment you will get through it ! Xxx
