Hi had my first dose of chemotherapy at the hospital on Thursday they gsve me Capecitabine chemo tablets to take at home for 21 day's I cannot swallow them and if I dissolve them the teste puts me off drinking it. I know I am not doing myself any favours not taking them. Has anybody else had the same problem and how did you rectify the problem.
Thanks
Hi Mandy,
My wife was in same situation. I used to hate seeing her swallowing the dissolved Capecitabine, she really struggled but they started to do their stuff. After the second course she decided to try and swallow the pills and she was able to do so. She has had 8 courses and the cancer has been described as 'stable" and she can now eat normally. As difficult as it is try to stick with the diluted medication, we did trying adding concentated fruit juice (after taking advice) but that didn't really work for my wife.
Good luck
Steve
Hi Mandy,
That's great news as I fully realise how difficult it is to drink the disolved pills.
My wife's cancer had spread but it is great news that it is now 'stable'.
Good luck and please keep us updated of your progress.
Steve.
Hi Stewart,
I hope Mandy's progress is continuing and all is well.
Regards
Steve
