Hello everyone … it’s been a while since I have posted. Not sure why … maybe a bit of burying my head in the sand and marching forward? Who knows … I’m not sure if it’s a conscious thing or not …
Last January my husband had new tumour growth which was tackled with chemotherapy and a trial drug. This worked and we celebrated with a cruise around the med with our two boys .. I didn’t realise we needed it so much after the last two years … when people talk about memories being made, they really were.
His last three monthly scan was almost a month ago and we got the results this week saying all was clear still. However the last few days he’s been complaining about his ear (this has been ongoing for a few months but only low level hearing loss .. had it checked at specsavers in case it needed syringing but it didn’t, also had GP check but nothing there). We mentioned it at our appointment this week and they are referring to ENT. The last few days he’s has been unsteady on his feet and feeling giddy. We were meant to be going out today to do some Christmas bits but he doesn’t feel steady enough. He keeps saying it will just be an ear infection, but I am worried.
Our nurse will be back on Monday so I’ve told him to call her and if I’m worried at all, I was just going to take him to A&E in case.
Could anything have changed in just under a month? Am I over reacting or is he playing or down? Feeling worried today.
Thank you for listening x
Hi Sunflower73
lovely to hear from you! So glad to hear they you managed to get away for a cruise. A bit of sun is always good for the soul.
It's easy to fret that every change is tumour related. it's only natural but remember folk with GBM can still catch colds and get infections too so hopefully that's all this is. However, I would encourage you to get anything that you are worried about checked out, no matter how trivial it may seem. If nothing else, getting it checked out brings some peace of mind and stops you worrying. If anything changes before Monday when the nurse is back then A&E is an option but I'd encourage you to call the nurse on Monday.
sending love and light and hugs to you both
Wee Me xx
