Double vision

Could double vision be treatment effect / late result of RT? My wife (53) had full resection in November and had some double vision then bc the tumour was by the optic nerve. Since surgery her eyes have been fine, with a bit of lost peripheral vision, but in the past couple of days she’s been getting double vision. She finished RT 6 weeks ago. Obvs I’m worried about recurrence, but not this soon? Has anyone experience of this?

Thanks

  • HI H

I was advised to report any changes to the oncologist so I would suggest you give them a call. if nothing else, it might put your mind at ease.

My husband didn't mention double vision but after a loss of peripheral vision in one eye, his sight in that eye narrowed to a very slim tunnel of vision.

I hope you get an explanation soon. Try not to worry about the what ifs. Speak to the doctor or your CNS and focus on the facts. One step at a time here.

    love n hugs

  • Thanks Wee Me. “Probably nothing” is what we’ve been told, and she’ll have an MRI after the next cycle of chemo. Feeling reassured. H

  • Hi

i am waiting for a urgent optometrist appointment so I am in no way an expert. I have (among other physical symptoms) blurred vision, droopy eyelids, flashes, ghosting and weird eye stuff.

But - the optician told me my muscles weren’t working properly and apart from the urgent referral - prescribed prism glasses - which are amazing!

Ive read they are used for brain tumours and they have really helped me. You can get them online quite cheaply. Might be worth a mention to your specialists.

my heart goes out to you and your wife - but you are doing great by supporting her and being on here.

good luck with your journey Kc
