I'm just curious really,I notice that some people don't tolerate Tmz for too long but I'm wondering if anyone on here like my husband has continued with Tmz chemo for over a year plus -and if so how long? Are they similar in getting minimal side effects?
My wife was on TMZ for a year at full dose, then continued but went down to lower dose at 6 week intervals rather than 4. Her bloods have always been (just about) OK, though white blood count has got very low. No other side effects.
Then after 4 (I think) rounds of reduced dose she had a recurrence and moved onto lomustine. tbh I'm dubious about the benefits of more than 1 year of TMZ - and the trial evidence seems to be there's no advantage over 6 months. My worry is that my wife's immune system is now less able to respond to immunotherapy as a result of the long chemo, if that's what we need to move on to. But what do I know...? Maybe the extended TMZ has delayed the recurrence. Certainly she has luckily had a good quality of life with few side effects and deficits. Good luck
