Hi all,
I know it's too late for many but a bit of good news I just saw in The Times.
I believe Dek has mentioned this trial before.
Fingers crossed this is at last a step change in treatment options for GBM.
Chris
I heard this doc on the radio a little while ago. Obviously its great news there may be a new treatment option. He seemed to say there are 14 spaces and three are taken.
I really wish these medics werent all doom and gloom! This little ray of sunshine said its a terminal diagnosis right from the start and patients have 9 months!!
Hi Dek we have the same doc and I'm wondering whether he might suggest this trial, as my wife now has small recurrence. What was the issue about you not getting onto the trial, if you don't mind me asking?
I hear you about him btw. How did he change when you went onto palliative?
Thanks so much and sending hugs x
I'm so sorry to hear that. What I don't understand is exactly your issue: how this treatment helps the fact that the disease spreads through the whole brain at recurrence. Thanks for your reply. Do you still see the doc or are you now at the next stage? Thinking of you.
Thank you. We're at stage of small recurrence and change to lomustine. If we did get a place on this trial I think it would mean coming off chemo so we'll have to see how things go. Thankfully my wife is doing well atm no big deficits. Good luck and thanks for your replies x
