Diagnosis time frames.

Hi everyone,

I've just downloaded this app today as I'm feeling a bit helpless. I'm wondering if I could hear your experiences regarding diagnosis time frames.

My dad was first taken unwell in October 2024. By this point he had  jaundice and after tests he was advised he had stage 4 gallbladder cancer. However this diagnosis isn't "confirmed" yet. He's had 2 biopsies as after the first they couldn't find anything. We have been advised that no matter what it is, he will be pallative.

I feel like there's alot of unanswered questions and we don't seem to be getting any answers. I was just wondering if anyone has been in the same boat? I've read through a couple of threads and it feels like other people were diagnosed quite quickly?

Thank you

Lauren

  • Hi Lauren/ and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your dad's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Thank you Anne, I'll have a look now. Thanks Lauren
