I just want to wish you all a happier and healthier new year.
I'm on the brink of year 9, that's right year 9 of dealing with Gallbladder cancer. I was originally diagnosed at age 46 with stage 2 and now I'm stage 4.
I have also had thyroid cancer which has recently metastised and I have a date with my surgeon in a fortnight to discuss surgery for that. I've also had ovarian cancer during this time, all 3 have been primary cancers.
I've met some truly lovely people along the way, I've lost far to many of them to this disease, but I try to stay positive and keep marching forward knowing they would want me to keep being positive and pushing on.
I know this group is a tough one to be in, I know the prognosis for our gallbladder cancer is mostly bleak, but there is hope, the human spirit/body can do marvelous things. So I'm going to raise my glass this New Year's Eve to those who are still dealing with cancer and those we have lost along the way. Keep fighting, keep looking forwards and keep pushing on into 2025.
