Hi. I have not been diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. But I am scared I could. In short: i had symptoms that could point to bowel cancer. A colonoscopy didn't find anything. But I have a CT scan planned to check the reasons for my symtoms:

  • Severe constipation for nearly 2 months. Can't have bowel movements without cosmocol.
  • Dull pain in the right side of abdomen. I thought it was in tthe ascending colon, but colonoscopy was OK.
  • Bloating
  • Feeling full even after small meal

Anyone recognising those symptoms? I don't have fatigue particularly, nor jaundice, or weight loss.

Should I worry? Anyone with similar symptoms?

Thanks

Marco

    Hi Marco

I'm sorry to read that you're back on the rollercoaster ride of tests, etc and you're worried that you might have gallbladder cancer after an investigation for bowel cancer, thankfully, didn't show that you had that type of cancer.

I haven't had gallbladder cancer but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.

You might like to take a look at this information on the symptoms of gallbladder cancer that Macmillan have produced.

Do come back and let us all know the results of your CT scan.

  • Hi Marco,

Your symptoms could be gallbladder cancer signs, but it could be just gallstones.  I have gallbladder cancer and the CT showed stones but missed the 2 cm tumor

  • Hi Irisgal, thanks.

Did you also have a dull pain, constipation... I think I can feel a harder lump more or less where the gallbladder is... actually,  I am pretty sure I have gallbladder cancer.  I am trying to cling on the hope that it is at least treatable...

  • Hi Marco,

I hope you have gotten more information from your scan, and that you don't have gallbladder cancer.  This is a very rare and aggressive type of cancer, and you usually die from it eventually.  I'm no doctor,  but there could still be other gallbladder issues.

Please keep us informed of your journey!

  • Did the scan got to wait until end of the week. I am not confident though: all symptoms point to gallbladder cancer... pains, constipation, can feel a hard mass... this is the moment I really regret not to be a religious man..

  • Good luck! I didn't have your symptoms,  I had nausea and vomiting and back pain. If a gallstone hadn't lodged in my common bile duct, they might not have found the tumor growing inside my gallbladder.
