Hi
i was diagnosed with grade 3B Follicular Lymphoma in early 2020. Had 6 cycles of RCHOP. I tolerated well with this treatment with minor fatigue. I’m relapsed with same and going to start treatment next week. This time I will be given Obinituzumab plus Bendamustine in 6 cycles. Would love to hear from anyone in this group with similar experience please.
Hi DevW and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.
I was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a different type of Low Grade NHL, my type is rather rare, incurable like your FL but treatable so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.
There have been a number if members who have had O&B so let’s look for them to pick up on your post.
You can do a word search using the search tool near the top so why not put Obinituzumab & Bendamustine in to the tool and select ‘anywhere’ and this will bring up the posts and as always you can hit reply to any thread and see is the members are still using the site.
Living with a Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma means that moving between various treatments is unfortunately part of life….. I know this rather well as I have had multiple relapses over my first 17 years so a good number if different treatments but am now into my 6th year in remission and living the dream (See my story)
It’s important to look at this as a long term health l condition that has various treatments available when required and even when you get to a point where you are told “this is the last throw of the dice Mike”….. as I heard in late 2013……… over the past 8-9 years new treatments have come on line so in my mind there is always hope until there is none.
Always around to help more or to just chat.
Many thanks Mike. Your comments are so encouraging. I started my treatment 2 days ago. So far so good.
Good to hear things are going ok….. and let’s look for things to continue to go well.
I did similar. R-CHOP then a year or so later, R-Bendamustine. Not sure why some doctors choose O instead of R. I shall ask next time. Now back in remission and doing rituximab maintenance every 12 weeks. I found the Benda easier than the R-CHOP so hope it's the same for you.
During my R maintenance I relapsed with a sublingual soft tissue lump. So Doctors decided to stop Rituximab maintenance as it was not helping. I was on watch and wait for nearly an year before they started O-Benda this week. I too find Benda easier, but its too early to say so as I have two more sessions lined up next week and the week after. Then the first cycle will be over. So I will have to wait and see.
