Hi, I've just been diagnosed with folicular lymphoma, waiting for mri scan, scary time
Hi Helen and welcome to this corner of the Community although always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike Thehighlander and I help out around our Lymphoma groups.
I don’t have FL but was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a different type of low grade but rare incurable but treatable type of skin NHL Stage 4a and although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I have experienced most types of treatments used but not necessarily the exact same drug mix but understand this journey rather well unfortunately.
Folicular Lymphoma is the most common type of low-grade Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Like my type it is incurable but very treatable, with great results and folks live long and happy lives with it.
Many folks will not even have treatment but this will be down to what your scan and other tests say.
Try and not do random google searches I would advise you stick to the information available on the Lymphoma Action website, LA is a small UK Lymphoma Specific Charity who have lots of information, videos and run regular regional online Lymphoma support groups and indeed a great Lymphoma Buddy Service.
Happy to talk this through more ((hugs))
