Hi everyone Iris here. I'm coming to the end, 2 to go of my injections then 2yrs of maintenance therapy has finished. I'm feeling apprehensive about my follicula Lymphoma re surfacing. Has anyone experienced this. Many thanks

  • Hi again  and well done.

As you may remember I have 2 types of rare T-Cell NHLs….. one is an aggressive high-grade that we think has been cured by the treatment I had 10+ years back.

The other is an ‘incurable’ low-grade that I was first diagnosed with back in 1999…… over the first 15 years I only ever achieved partial-remission…… the longest being 9 months before I had to go back on treatments.

But the treatment 10+ years back looks like it has put my low-grade to sleep so as long as so don’t go around kissing princesses I may be OK.

I will say that my treatment back in Oct 2015 was seen as the last tool in the box……. but over the last 10+ years some new treatments have been developed so there is a fall back……. but relapse is firmly put on a very high shelf so I can’t regularly look at it with my focus on getting on and living life to the full.

There have been a few members been in the same position as you so let’s look for them to pick up in your post.

  • Hi iris firstly way to go!! I am currently on my 2 year maintenance (infusions every 2 months) my next is this Monday I don't see it as 2 years rather than 12 lots of treatment after Monday it's 8 to go! I'm sure you've been positive thought initial treatment so just keep that going everyone will have a wobble at some point I've been lucky only the one but I soon kicked that to touch! As bon Jovi famously sang "keep the faith" you've got this lovely keep going x

  • Hi Iris

I have 1 cycle to go at the start of May. I do sometimes worry about what happens when it comes back. But I tolerated the treatment well and there are several other treatments available. So I have to take comfort from that and crack on with life.
