Hi there,
New to all of this. First time here, so nervous and anxious about what is next. I am 56 and had radio plaque treatment December 2025 in Liverpool. It all happened so fast following a change in my vision November. Travelling to Liverpool for check ups eve5/6 weeks.
I have a full CT scan April. Hoping for some good news.
There was a slip of the needle during removal of the plaque which has left me with scar tissue on the retina. Has anyone else experienced this? I have not had firm answers about regaining my sight.
hope it is ok asking,

Afternoon Tizzy.
Whilst none of us want to be here, "welcome", "You are not alone", and "In cyberspace, folk can hear you scream".
You've taken an important step in sharing and "talking". Folk as you read the various threads each have their own experiences, some will be familiar, others not.
On top of everything you have concern given your treatment. I can't answer that one sadly, as it is outside of my experience thus far.
Keep asking, but have in mind that the treatment alone is potentially going to mean eyesight issue further down the line. I don't think it's wrong to be up front about that.
For you I hope your scans go well and results are more positive. Naming the emotions around it as "Scanxiety" has helped for me. Maybe it will for you.

Hello Tizzy
I hope your scan goes well… on the plus side for you, I had a 6 month wait for my first CT body scan but it was in Covid. It is very rare (from what I was told) that it would be elsewhere if it of some consultation to you (4%). I don’t know if you have allergies but I do and had hives after the contrast and in hind sight I would have dosed myself up with piriton if I knew this was going to happen the next day ( just a heads up). Apparently CT contrast is different to the MRI contrast.
The worst of it all by far is the lengthy wait for results…. mine always seem to be around 6 weeks as a norm. I also get a bit twitchy a couple of weeks before my scans too.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
