It has been aroind a month my mother finished her 6 rounds of R CHOP For DLBC lymphoma, and is waiting for PET scan. She is complaining of feeling very cold sometimes to very hot at other times during the day. We are a bit worried about this changing temperayure of hers. She even has to wear warm socks in this very hot weather to cope with her cold feeling. I was wondering whether this common in post chemo patients.
Thanks
Hi, yes a few of us have experienced this and it can last a while, I never asked about it at the time as it was one of many things that came and went eventually.
hope this helps, but if you are worried which you are call the specialist nurse and discuss it with them
John
Hi I am with John in this and can identify with these issues also, it was like my internal body thermometer had been knocked out of sync but it did correct its self in time.
Make sure she is checking her temperature regularly but I would always advise you call this issue in to her contact nurse.
Hi AniCat, l am still experiencing this even today, and had my 6th r chop 3weeks ago. I found the cold feeling( as if cold water was trickling down my back) usually occurred a couple of days after treatment and lasted a few days. I particularly notice this when l go to bed? I do get hot periods too. I mentioned this to my consultant and also about cramp in my calves but he said he hadn’t heard of this?... My temperature is always good though. I think it must just be part and partial of chemo but see what your moms consultant maybe? Regards Birdlady.
A week prior to 5th R CHOP been getting occasional cramps in calves whilst in bed but today whilst walking ,not seeing the consultant before chemo so cannot ask.

Camps in the calves in bed and walking - oh yes :(
This can happen to most folks as the ever increasing effects of your treatment will have an effect on your muscles. For me it was all about drinking lots of water (2-3 Lt a day) regular light exercise and gentle stretching exercises.
But you could also call your contact nurse just to make sure.

Never too much Steve, you need a strong Single Malt for my one lol
For leg cramps try Better You magnesium spray that also contains calcium. Use 30 mins before bed.
Never heard of this - I would always clear stuff with my team as there is a massive chemical reaction going on in your body during treatments.
Recommended on Health Unlocked thyroid community site.Worked for me and the hard knot in the calf was gone in 24 hours.
Magnesium tablets also recommended on the site.
