My daughter is 25, she began a journey with cancer over 2 yrs ago, it started in her appendix, she had appendix removed and chemo etc, to cut long story short, it began appearing throughout her body after this, sarcoma in legs, lungs, behind her eye, brain and many more places , just wouldn’t give her a break, she was given tha all clear twice and rang the bell, but just a week after she was diagnosed with CLL. This was approx 6 months ago, hospital have said it’s so aggressive that treatment is not really working now but she does have immune therapy weekly to try to help, they have given her 12/24 months left to live. She is in a lot of pain now and morphine is not much help, she doesn’t want the painkillers that leave doped up and unable to care for her children. (She has twin girls who are 3 and a 5 month old baby. Her partner is unable to work now as she cannot be left on her own and she is too unwell and too ill to work, she is struggling so much with finances and money worries on top of her illness, I think she is going to have a mental break down on top of her illness. She has also had a section 21 eviction as her landlord wants to sell house, council have been no help. We are struggling so much please can someone offer advice on where we go from here

  • Hi  sorry to hear about the challenges you are all facing.

Could I recommend that you call the Macmillan Support Line open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. This service provides practical information, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear.
