I was just wondering how people deal with the cold?

Rest and sleep.
Drink plenty of water (fruit juice or squash mixed with water is OK) to avoid dehydration.
Gargle salt water to soothe a sore throat.
If you have a high temperature or you do not feel well enough to do your normal activities, try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until you feel better.
I was given this simple rule for keeping eye on infections developing…… If my temperature is 37.5°C, repeat in one hour. If my temperature has increased, whether I feel unwell or not, I should call my clinical team, GP or call 111 during the weekend or out of hours,
