  • Hi all i was diagnosed with Cll in 2018 age 53 and was on a watch and wait. Due to lymph nodes pressing on a vital vein and a bone marrow biopsy showing 88% infiltration, i started FCR last month. I had really bad nausea  through the first 2 weeks and slight nausea throughout the rest of the month.  i have just started my 2nd round of treatment and was given metoclopramide ondansetron which i had for the first round and an additional anti sick aprepitant. Since day 3 i have felt really nauseous, can't even bear the smell of food. As anyone had similar problems and can they recommend anything. Would really appreciate any tips. Thank you
  • Hi  and welcome to this corner of the a community. I am Mike  and I help out around our various blood cancer groups. I had a rare NHL so did not have your treatment FCR but did have some elements as part of my main chemo.

Yes, I had nausea but never was sick. This is over 7 years ago now but I do remember that we continually changed my anti sickness meds over the 6 cycles as not the same one did the trick.

The main thing my team told me to do was drink 2-3 litres of water everyday throughout my treatment as this was the best way to flush the toxins out my body and protect my kidneys.

I do hope that things settle down for you.
