Hi everyone,

Feel a bit silly for even starting this but I'm 6 weeks post op radical hysterectomy and I'm really struggling emotionally with it all, is this normal?

Even though surgery was a success and im so very thankful,I am left feeling so drained. The time line from diagnose to surgery was about 12 weeks and I feel like only now it's really sinking in what I have been through.

How did everyone feel coming out the other side?

  • Hi   and welcome to our group!

Please don’t feel silly at all. You have have had major surgery and it’s natural to feel very emotional about things. It’s been so quick since your diagnosis you haven’t really had time to process everything. I’m so glad things have gone well for you, but it takes time for things to sink in.

My situation was different in that surgery wasn’t possible for me at my initial diagnosis, but I hope some of the other ladies who have been in your situation will come along and give you their experiences. I understand what it’s like to come through major surgery but I hope some of our other ladies can tell you what it is like for them.

I hope  you’re feeling good and that your recovery is going well but please feel free to use the group to ask any questions and keep us updated on how you’re getting on.

    Sarah xx

  • Hi  , I had my radical hysterectomy nearly 3 weeks ago and I am struggling emotionally too. I think everything happens so fast and I know it will take me time to process it all. I am really trying not to think negatively but it’s hard!
I’m so glad to hear everything went well with your surgery. You went through a lot so it’s understandable to feel like this. Hopefully over time you can process it all and start to feel betterx
