Hi I have been diagnosed with cc after a loop diathermy they said I have c1b however I am waiting a MRI which can take 31 days to get a appointment so my anxiety is through the roof . I am 32 with two children so hysterectomy I a good choice as I don't want anymore children . I have had some new aches and pains and not sure if it's cc or all in my head. I am getting boring sensation in the top of my groin as if I'm ready to give birth . It doesn't really hurt is this usual or could it be from healing from loop diathermy 5weeks on.. don't want to google . Xx
Hi Alice410 and welcome. Sorry you find yourself here but we are really a lovely bunch. I don't have much experience with the procedures you mention as I went straight to hardcore cervical cancer. What I do know about is the agonising waiting time for scans and results and the whirlwind that follows. It sounds as though you are in the very early stages so that is good and very treatable and curable. You will feel so much more in control and calmer when you have a treatment plan in place. There are other ladies on here who know a lot more about these early procedures and I know they will be along to help and answer all your questions but we are all here to support you on this journey. Good luck and keep us posted xxx
Hi Alice410and welcome to our group!
Like Snobird, I went straight to a cancer diagnosis so haven’t had procedures for removal of cells, but you have been fortunate that your cancer has been picked up early enough to be able to have a hysterectomy. The waiting for scans, tests and results really is one of the worst parts of the whole process and very anxiety inducing, but things get easier once you have confirmation of exactly what will happen. Hopefully the mri will confirm the initial staging and allow for surgery.
You are right not to Google as that can be a scary place with lots of incorrect information and things which don’t apply to you. It can make things in your head worse. It can take a few weeks to heal completely from the treatment you’ve had, but also your own anxiety can make any little niggle magnified, so it’s not really possible for any of us to say what the aches and pains are, as we are all different and our experience and tolerance of pain differs.
We have such a nice group here, I hope you’ll find it encouraging and supportive -keep in touch and we’ll help in any way we can. Just got to sit tight for now and wait for the mri so you can get on with the next steps.
Sarah xx
