Hello
I am new to this forum so I thought I would say hello.
I was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer last year. It was non HPV clear cell carcinoma. Is there anyone on this forum who had this? I think it is quite rare.
My scans are now clear. I just had a disclosure of my smear history with an NHS consultant which I had no idea was being done but it was quite valuable in learning how to protect myself in future i.e. the standard smear programme not being useful etc. It does however feel like I am sometimes navigating things in the dark.
I would love to hear from anyone else how has or has had this type of cervical cancer!
Hi Joy88 and welcome to our group.
It’s good to hear you’re through treatment and have had good scan results. I had stage 2b adenocarcinoma at my original diagnosis, so one of the more common types, and not clear cell. You’re right to say that it’s rare, so it may be a little more difficult to connect with others who have this. However, the treatments are broadly the same so I hope you’ll find some benefit in being part of our group.
If you search for “clear cell cervical cancer” in our group (using the little magnifying glass at the top left of the page) it will bring up all the posts where this type of cervical cancer has been discussed).
It would be helpful for us if you can share a little more information, especially how the consultant has said you can protect yourself in the future. There are not so many of us who have a cancer which is not hpv driven, but others joining the group could benefit from any information you’re willing to share.
It can also be helpful if you update your profile: this will let other members read what has brought you here, and what treatment(s) you’ve had. To do this, just click on this link which tells you how you can manage your community account.
If any member has completed their profile, you can read this by clicking on their name to find out more about them, and it saves you having to repeat yourself-members can see at a glance where you’re at.
I’m sorry I don’t have specific experience of clear cell to share, as I know you’re looking for that, but I have been through treatments and surgeries over the years.
Hopefully you’ll enjoy being with us, and I’m glad you’ve joined us today.
Sarah xx

I absolutely get the navigating through the dark I also have non HPV cervical cancer called Mesonephric adencarcenoma stage 2B and find limited information available due to being so rare.
my treatment was based on general cervical cancer treatment radical hysterectomy radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
from what I have managed to find that as well as regular checkups this cancer tends to reoccur in the lungs so vital to have ct scan of chest as well as pelvic area
like you smear tests have always been clear
