Hi I am new, I have a mass by my cervix and i have had bloods, ultra sounds CT, MRI and have just had a PET scan, I'm really scared as to what else there is going on, I feel constantly tired but I do not know if that is my way of coping. It would lovely to hear from any of you.

  • Hi Guccirush and a warm welcome to our group from me.

Can I just ask, did you get a diagnosis of cervical cancer which then prompted all your other investigations? Your mind must be in a whirl with all these things going on, and we all recognise what a difficult time this is for you while you’re waiting for results.

We are all at different stages in the process of diagnosis and treatment, but our common bond is being here to understand, encourage and support each other, so you are very welcome to be with us. Please feel free to ask any questions, and join in on any of the chats. We will all help you as much as we can with advice and support as you go through this process.

I hope you will soon have answers from all of your scans and tests so you can move forward with a treatment plan. Things do become easier to cope with once you know what is happening.

  • Hi, I didn't feel right so I had a smear that can back clear. I was sent to the hospital for a biopsy after I was diagnosed with HPV.. the biopsy came back with a diagnosis of cancer but I needed more scans to confirm the type it was and if it is attached to my cervix! A lot to take in, thank you for saying Hi means a lot!  Good luck everyone x

  • Hi guccirush

Thanks for explaining where you are with this. It is indeed a lot to take in at the beginning, but finding out more gives you the information you need to cope with the next part of the process. For the most common types of cervical cancer the treatment is broadly the same, so finding out the type of cancer and the stage is the most important next step in finding how how you’ll being going forward.

Between us in the group we’ve had different stages of this cancer, and various treatments, so hopefully there will always be someone who can help you out with advice and personal experiences. You are among friends here who understand.

  • Hi Guccirush.  Sorry to hear your diagnosis but as Sarah says it is the fear of the unknown while waiting for results and the whirlwind of scans, tests etc.  I remember the stress of all that very well.  It really does get easier when you know what you are dealing with and what treatment you will be given.  Please don't hesitate to ask any questions or rant or whatever you need to do.  Good luck and stay strong xxx
