Hello everyone I’m Danielle, just been diagnosed with stage 1b3 cervical cancer, it’s all been so fast and joined to see if talking about it with people who understand what I’m going threw might help thanks.

  • Hi Danielle and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer and, although I had a different type of cancer, I can remember how distressing it is when you first hear those words.

I'm sure you'll find the other ladies in this group will be willing to share their experiences with you and give support.

Hi, Thanks for u message, yeah it was, it’s hard to describe now u feel to people who have not gone threw it isn’t it, and yeah would love to hear peoples stories and understand how to deal with all the emotions x

  • You're right Danielle that unless you've had cancer yourself it can be very hard to understand how you feel.

There are no right or wrong ways to deal with your emotions you just have to find a way that works for you. I found that spending more time doing the things that I enjoyed helped me from spending too much time wondering about the "what ifs". Lots of people find mindfulness really useful and if this is something that interests you take a look at this page from the NHS website on mindfulness apps. You can download them from there and some of them are free.
